Build the Roads
Ensuring promised roads get built, not delayed.

What is our goal?
As high density housing has been approved, the accompanying planned new roads to support the increased traffic have been repeatedly delayed by special interest groups. While everyone has a right to express their opinion and we strongly support that right, in the end the interests of a small minority should not be allowed to harm the larger majority. Specifically State Road 534, the new highway intended to relieve the heavy traffic on Narcoossee Rd has been in the planning stages for years, has received all the required approvals and permits from all the associated agencies and organizations and survived numerous court challenges and yet some special interest groups and politicians continue to try to impede it's construction. Our goal is to provide factual information so that when and if the opportunity presents itself people can share the facts so these new projects can proceed without delay!
An additional new road project, the Sunbridge Parkway has also been challenged and delayed and must be built if the local governments continue to approve new housing projects. While the tax revenues generated by new development is very attractive to these government agencies, it becomes a safety issue when heavy traffic conditions that exceed planned road load maximums contribute to higher accident rates and much slower emergency vehicle response times.
What are the Issues?
Three local Governments, not one (Orange County, City of Orlando and Osceola County)
Numerous studies pointed to the need to build on a section of the Split Oak Forest Preserve which was required to be preserved in Perpetuity
Competing priorities, governmental and private developers
Narcoossee is the only North South road in the area and now exceeds it's planned maximum daily car load

Our Mission
The time to fight these new proposed roads has past, many new home developments and apartment complexes have already been built with more being approved routinely. The lack of the planned new roads has resulted in 10 minute ride times expanding to over an hour in some cases and ambulance response times expanding from 7 to 10 minutes to over 30 minutes on occasion depending on what time of day. The end result affects the area's desirability which in turn affects quality of life and home values. For those who have enjoyed living in the area, many find it is no longer the peaceful fun lifestyle but instead a stressful life where simple trips to the food store need to be planned around travel windows so you are not stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for 40 minutes to get that last minute quart of milk!
Our Mission is to get the planned (and in some cases approved) roads built. We hope to connect with the many agencies and organizations to ramp up maximum pressure to get construction prioritized as well as neutralize any opposition with the sharing of facts. For example while it sounds good to save the Split Oak Forest, sharing that Tavistock has donated 1,500 acres to compensate for the 160 affected acres and about $ 42 million dollars to help manage any transition costs might change one's perspective.
